Jacksonville, Florida — (PR CANADA) Learn more about the law that applies to total loss cases is called the Valued Policy Law. Under this law, an insurer is obligated to pay the entire amount of insurance provided under the policy even if the repair or replacement of the building could be done for less. When identifying a total loss, an insurer must consider whether the cost of building repair might exceed the property’s value. This can become complicated in cases where a single event causes two types of damage. This often occurs in the case of hurricanes, which cause damage by flood and wind. Wind is typically covered under a homeowner’s insurance policy, while flooding is not. Many questions have been raised with respect to the application of the Valued Policy Law in these cases. To learn more about this law and to get FREE Florida home insurance quotes please visit or site at, Florida Home Insurance and speak with an informed agent.

We all know that Florida home insurance costs are on the rise. We have had back-to-back hurricane seasons that have had above normal activity, Florida homeowners insurance companies have asked the state of FL for large rate hikes to handle all of the risk they are currently taking on in the Sunshine State.  Our  state government has made a promise to lower house insurance premiums and the largest carriers in the state say they have been backed up against a wall with all of their losses due to previous hurricanes. It seems that they would like to take the stand that they would either operate at a loss or don’t operate at all.
Did you know that large Florida carrier State Farm that has nearly 800,000 policies holders has requested a nearly 50% rate increase and when the state said “good riddance,’ the company announced plans to pull out. State Farm is one of the last large insurance carriers still writing policies in Florida. What do you think about that?
Florida and our state government is trying to tell Fl residents they are being protected by this change, Florida insurance lawyer Ted Corles says keeping State Farm around would be a more prudent move because without them, many new and inexperienced companies will try to move in. State Farm isn’t the only insurance carrier battling unprecedented risks in the state of Florida, he warns. According to Corles, giving up on the major carriers will only create more problems down the road. Do you agree with Ted Corles? Please let us know your thoughts on this subject.Â

It has been nearly six years since a crisis in the Texas homeowners insurance market compelled legislators to make major reforms. The majority of Texans now have less coverage but still pay some of the highest premiums in the country. Why is the cost so high in Texas for home insurance?
Did you know that more than a million Texas homeowners now have very limited policies that don’t completely cover all potential damages? Basic coverage that once was part of every policy doesn’t exist anymore in many policies. You will see that policies that cover fewer risks have taken over the majority of homeowners in Texas. Â
What is the state of Texas going to do in order to fix this homeowners insurance nightmare?   There is state oversight that occurs in a political environment in which large industry lobbyists and campaign contributions are prevalent. How will they ever get anything done if lobbyist are in everyone’s pocket?

One of Floridians belvoded Florida homeowners insurance carriers, State Farm, will be pulling out of the state. They are Florida’s second-largest home insurer, pleads poverty as it attempts to exit the state and send more than 800,000 consumers scrambling for coverage. How could the state of Florida let this happen? Why can’t State Farm dip into some of their profits in other states to make up for Florida?
A Company officials say they are losing nearly $20 million a month. After being denied a 50 percent rate increase late last year, continuing to operate in Florida “would have resulted in insolvency,” said State Farm Florida CEO James Thompson. Is this true? Why do regulators allow homeowners companies to set up seperate LLC’s in Florida? Don’t you think all of their companies should be under one umbrella? Another way to work the system. Read More Here…
